Cost. ARAG insurance covers the attorney fee which includes the drafting of your Wills, Medical and Financial Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directive regarding life support. ELO bills our clients Fifty Dollars ($50) to cover administrative and printing cost which includes specialty Will covers and envelopes.
Process. To begin the process, our attorney meets with you (and your spouse/partner) for about an hour to gather information and discuss appropriate estate plans. You will receive a draft document within a week after the first meeting. Our attorney will continue to work with you to revise your Will and Powers of Attorney until you are satisfied with the final product. You will then return to my office to sign in front of witnesses provided by us. The whole process takes a few hours of your time and you can expect to execute the documents in about two to three weeks.
Meeting Preparation. To minimize stress for our clients, we no longer have our clients fill out a questionnaire prior to your first meeting. Instead, we gather information during the first meeting. If you are ready to schedule an appointment, enter here. If you have further questions, Email the attorney.
Real Estate Matters:
ELO handles most real estate matters. For most real estate matters, the first step is for you to contact our office to ensure your matter is covered by ARAG.
Selling or Buying a Home. If you have used the service of a real estate agent, your realtor would have prepared the Listing Agreement or purchase & Sale Agreement (with addenda). It’s important that you have an attorney review the documents, even if there has been mutual acceptance, to ensure a successful closing or to limit your liability in case things don’t go as planned. To begin the process, please email your documents to our attorney and schedule an appointment online to have an in-person or telephonic conference for a thorough discussion after we review your documents. If you forego the service of a realtor and would like ELO to prepare the contracts so that you can submit an offer on your own, please provide the property address to our attorney.
